Oakland University and TerpTheatre have enjoyed a close and creative relationship since 1998. Since then, they have collaborated on 35 productions – nearly all of which have used shadowed interpreters. Oakland University’s department of Music, Theater and Dance is well-known for its excellence in teaching college-age actors and theater technicians. TerpTheatre is Michigan’s premier theatre interpreting company, specializing in shadow interpretation. Together, Oakland University and TerpTheatre have been recognized by The Kennedy Center for excellence in the use of shadow interpreters in the projection of The Trojan Women (see video, below).
